IN pg 45 (9/21/12): Galapagos Animal Characteristics Chart
IN pg 46 (HW DUE 9/24/12): Dichotomous Key for Galapagos Island Reptiles
Use the link in the document below to go the the Galapagos Island site. Click "Classification Gallery." Complete the characteristics chart (IN pg. 45) for the seven animals. Pay special attention to details that will help differentiate between similar animals. Then develop a dichotomous key for at least five of the animals. You may do all seven, if you wish. Use the procedure we learned in class today. First divide the animals into two groups. Then divide each group into two groups. Continue dividing until there is only one type of animal in each group. Now go back and number each pair of groups (1a and 1b, 2a and 2b, etc.) Finally, write out your dichotomous key. After you complete your key, choose an animal or two and check it!
